The OEM custom jacket manufacturing process is a structured collaboration between the brand and the factory. At Ginwenwear, it follows a proven 5-step workflow designed to minimize risk, ensure quality, and deliver consistent results. The entire process from initial inquiry to delivered goods typically takes 6 to 12 weeks depending on order complexity, material sourcing, and shipping method.
Step 1: Inquiry and Quotation (Days 1-3)
The process begins when the client submits a product inquiry through the Send Inquiry page. Include jacket type, target quantity, preferred materials, sizing requirements, and design references. Ginwenwear returns a detailed quotation within 48 business hours, including itemized pricing for materials, labor, trims, packaging, and logistics options (FOB, CIF, or DDP).
Tip: Include reference images, target price point, and expected delivery timeline for the most accurate quotation.
Step 2: Sample Development (Days 4-12)
Once the quotation is accepted, the production team begins sample development. Options include stock samples using existing patterns, development samples made to exact specifications (7-10 business days), and photo samples for final approval. Sample fees range from $50 to $200 and are fully deducted from the first bulk order.
Step 3: Sample Approval (Days 13-20)
The client receives the physical sample and evaluates fit, material quality, color accuracy, and construction details. One revision round is typically included. Once approved, all specifications are frozen and become the master reference for bulk production.
Step 4: Bulk Production (Days 21-50)
After sample approval, bulk materials are procured (10-20 days). Actual production takes 15 to 35 working days depending on quantity. Three-stage QC is conducted throughout: incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final AQL 2.5 sampling.
Step 5: Shipping and Delivery (Days 51-80+)
Finished goods are packed in polybags and cartons. Clients choose sea freight (20-40 days), air freight (5-8 days), or express courier (3-5 days for samples). DDP terms available with full shipment tracking.
OEM vs ODM
In OEM, the client owns the design; Ginwenwear manufactures to specifications. In ODM, Ginwenwear provides existing designs for customization with branding and colors. ODM typically has a shorter sample phase.
